Product categories

In a disc tube (DT) module, membrane cushions are stacked between hydraulic discs. The open flow channels and turbulent flow keep the membrane surface clean, so the module can treat water with high turbidity, high SDI and high salt content where spiral wound membranes foul quickly. DT modules are mainly used for DTRO and can also be supplied for nanofiltration (DTNF).

Key features

  • Open flow channels prevent blocking, scaling and concentration polarization
  • Easy to clean, good flux recovery after cleaning
  • Standard modules that are easy to open; membrane sheets can be replaced one by one
  • Several pressure levels up to 200 bar for high concentration ratios
  • Can run with fewer membrane sheets when parts are short

Applications in detail

  • Industrial wastewater: electroplating, textile, printing and dyeing, chemical, coal chemical, coking and iron and steel wastewater; removes organics and heavy metals for discharge or reuse
  • High-salt wastewater: high-salinity landfill leachate and concentrated brine, for volume reduction and resource recovery
  • Drinking water: removes suspended solids, bacteria, viruses and organic and inorganic salts
  • Seawater desalination: fresh water for arid regions and offshore platforms
  • Food processing: concentration of fruit juice, alcohol and dairy products
  • Pharmaceuticals: water for injection and filling water
  • Other: high-concentration material processing, desulfurization wastewater, high-solids streams and zero liquid discharge

In high-concentration applications the solids content can exceed 25%. All maintenance can be done on site.

Practical applications

Landfill leachate

Treating leachate to discharge standards in a compact plant.

Zero liquid discharge

Reducing RO concentrate and high-salinity industrial wastewater.

Desalination

Seawater and brackish water desalination, including offshore use.
