XF75 is a pressurized ultrafiltration element based on hydrophilic hollow fibers made of a PES/PVP blend. Water flows from inside to outside each fiber, and the element is installed vertically. It removes bacteria, viruses, suspended solids and colloids by physical filtration, giving a stable feed for RO systems or water ready for direct use.
Key features
- Removes 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses
- Typical filtrate: SDI < 3, turbidity < 0.1 NTU
- Wide pH range 2 – 12, free chlorine up to 250 mg/l
- High packing density and good anti-fouling behaviour
- Every fiber integrity tested; single fibers can be repaired
Fields of application
- Potable water: effective rejection of viruses and chlorine-resistant organisms such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia
- Process water: a barrier to suspended solids and silt; the filtrate can be used directly or fed to a downstream RO system
- Effluent polishing: meets the highest turbidity and microbiological standards for unrestricted reuse
- Seawater RO pre-treatment: almost total removal of suspended solids protects the SWRO membranes from fouling
