In an MBR process, membrane modules are submerged in the activated sludge tank and combine biological treatment with solid–liquid separation in one step. The flat sheet membranes are made of PVDF with a pore size of about 0.1 µm, giving high flux, good fouling resistance and stable effluent quality. Plates are held in a frame with mortise and tenon joints, so they keep even spacing and can be installed from the top or the side.
Key features
- PVDF membrane with good chemical stability and mechanical strength
- Pore size about 0.1 µm
- Effluent turbidity below 1 NTU, suspended solids ≤ 5 mg/l
- Standard (1 m) and long (1.8 m) plates
- Cleaning with sodium hypochlorite up to about 5,000 mg/l
