Single-cartridge plastic housings installed directly on the pipe. Standard housings (Ø92 mm) take normal 10″ or 20″ cartridges; Big Blue housings (Ø148 mm) take fat Ø110 – 115 mm cartridges for much higher flow. The body is reinforced polypropylene (blue) or clear SAN, so the cartridge condition can be seen without opening.
Key features
- Blue reinforced PP or clear SAN body
- Buna-N O-ring
- Standard and Big Blue sizes
- Holds PP, carbon or ion exchange resin cartridges
- Mounting bracket and opening wrench available as options
How to choose a housing
- Number of cartridges: a standard PP cartridge (Ø60–64 mm) handles up to about 1.1 m³/h per 10 inches of length. For 20 m³/h, choose a 5 × 40″ housing (22 m³/h) or a 7 × 30″ housing (23.1 m³/h).
- Pressure: the test pressure of the housing must be higher than the operating pressure of the system.
- Material: plastic housings for small domestic and light industrial lines; stainless steel SS304/SS316 for higher flow, pressure and hygiene; uPVC for corrosive water.
- Cartridge change: replace cartridges when the pressure drop across the housing reaches about 1 bar.
