For large or special systems, cartridge housings are fabricated to order in SS304 or SS316 for 3 up to 45 cartridges of 20″, 30″ or 40″. Welds are electro-polished and mechanically polished, connections are flanged to JIS10K, and each housing carries a nameplate. A typical example is the 3 × 20″ housing for 3 – 6.6 m³/h; the largest 45 × 40″ version handles 90 – 198 m³/h.
Key features
- Made to order: 3 – 45 cartridges, 20″ – 40″
- SS304 or SS316, 2 mm wall
- Electro-polished welds plus mechanical polishing
- Flanged inlet and outlet (JIS10K), 1/2″ bottom drain
- DOE cartridge ends, three legs with bolt holes, nameplate
How to choose a housing
- Number of cartridges: a standard PP cartridge (Ø60–64 mm) handles up to about 1.1 m³/h per 10 inches of length. For 20 m³/h, choose a 5 × 40″ housing (22 m³/h) or a 7 × 30″ housing (23.1 m³/h).
- Pressure: the test pressure of the housing must be higher than the operating pressure of the system.
- Material: plastic housings for small domestic and light industrial lines; stainless steel SS304/SS316 for higher flow, pressure and hygiene; uPVC for corrosive water.
- Cartridge change: replace cartridges when the pressure drop across the housing reaches about 1 bar.
